Forgotten World

Falling asleep

Slowly drifting

In and out of consciousness

As time ceases to exist…

But I’m not asleep

I’m fully awake

Yet unaware

Of the outside world

Of the hurting

Hungry

And needy world

In one hour

I make at least four times

The amount

That others make in a day

Yet on luxuries

I waste it away

There’s more to life

Than just myself

There’s more to life

Than just you and me

Forget survival of the fittest!

Lets help all of humanity

We were all created equal

But not in equal places

Though that does not mean

The privileged are superior to other races

Remember what your place is

In this day and age

Humanity has been mistaken for material

So please excuse me

If I’m a savage

For I refuse to let my fellow man

Be forgotten in my lust for more

We were all put on this earth

For a purpose

I have all the means to complete mine

But others don’t

So please help me help the world

Because honestly, most won’t

* Call me self righteous if you will, just don’t deny the truth.
